Privacy policy
Short version: this site doesn’t track you. It only knows what you choose to send.
Real Roots Media (realrootsmedia.com) is operated by Afif Bin Alam, a sole proprietor. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “I” mean Afif Bin Alam, trading as Real Roots Media. Questions about your data go to afif@realrootsmedia.com.
What this website collects
This website doesn’t use analytics, advertising trackers or cookies of its own, and its fonts are served from this site rather than a third party. Browsing it doesn’t create a profile of you anywhere.
The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Like almost every host, Cloudflare processes standard request data — such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested — to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We don’t use this data to identify anyone.
Messages you send
If you email us or use the contact form, we receive your name, your email address and whatever you write. The contact form doesn’t store anything on this site: it opens your own email app with your message ready to send, so it reaches us as a normal email.
We use what you send only to reply to you and, if we work together, to run the project.
Booking a call
Calls are booked through Calendly. When you use the booking calendar on the contact page, Calendly collects the details you enter (such as your name, email and chosen time) and may set its own cookies. Calendly’s privacy notice applies to that data; we receive the booking details so we can hold the call.
Client projects
If you hire us, we handle any data that’s part of your project only to deliver the work, and share it only with services needed to deliver it — such as hosting providers — as agreed with you.
What we never do
- Sell or rent personal data.
- Use your details for advertising.
- Add you to a mailing list you didn’t ask to join.
How long we keep it
Emails and project correspondence are kept for as long as they’re needed for the conversation or the project, and for our business records after that. Then they’re deleted.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you at any time — just email afif@realrootsmedia.com. We’ll respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page will change too.
